Left Irvine & headed up PCH (Highway 1), with stops at Malibu, El Capitan, Pfeiffer/Big Sur, with stops along the way. Highlights include elephant seals near San Simeon. Several hundred on various beaches with new seals being born & mating rituals. The weather was fabulous & Eddie traveled well along the rugged coast up and down steep hills and winding roads. Visited Carmel , then the Pinnacles Natl Monument. Saw a total of 7 California condors there on a hike to high peaks from the west entrance. Got close enough to see # 40, 45, & 50 leg bands without binoculars! Zero mechanical problems, but lost the antenna on hwy 101 near L.A. (whoops)
We had a great winter getaway& enjoyed 70 degree weather in winter! A treat for us.

Headed straight to Joshua Tree National Park. First "camping" trip for our daughter Jordan, 19 months old. She did great, except not wanting to sleep our 1st nite in the bus. "Too Exciting!" Spent 3 nights at Joshua Tree Park. Perfect amount of time to see what we wanted to see . The bus did great- no problems!

Bob, Heidi, and Maya escaped from the hardest Seatle winter in 15 years to the High Deserts of California. H&B courted in a '71 VW Microbus over 20 years ago and we fell in love all over again, but this time with the addition of Maya, who turned 7 on the 12th!
Rell treated us well from Desert Hot Springs, to Joshua Tree, and Legoand, and beyond.
"Thanks for the memories!"
