About US & THE VW BIZ

Vintage Surfari Wagons was born from a passion for adventure and a love of the open road. The story began while on vacation in the Hawaiian islands of the Pacific, where Co-founders Bill and Diane, avid surfers and outdoor enthusiasts, dreamed of creating a business that would allow others to experience the beauty of California's coastline while driving in a classic, vintage-style camper van.

Inspired by the nostalgia of road trips taken in their youth, Bill and Diane set out to build a fleet of retro vans that could be revamped to meet the needs of modern travelers while maintaining their old-school charm. They spent countless hours sourcing and restoring each vehicle, ensuring that every detail was pristine, from the vibrant paint jobs to the thoughtfully designed interiors.

Each van became a canvas for creativity, allowing renters to create their own unique journeys. Rental guests and friends soon spread the word, and interest began to grow.

After a successful launch, the demand for Vintage Surfari Wagons expanded with the happy discovery of folks from abroad realizing that they could rent these tiny homes on wheels. The commitment to quality and customer experience remained at the forefront of the brand’s ethos, garnering a devoted following among those seeking to explore California in style.

Vintage Surfari Wagons stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of adventure and the timeless allure of vintage vehicles, inviting everyone to embark on their own unforgettable travels along the picturesque coastline.

Today, Vintage Surfari Wagons provides a comprehensive range of services beyond vintage camper van rentals, including VW mechanical repairs, complete restorations, and camper van sales.
