Nalu returns home after a 14,000 mile, 55 day journey...

Our white hard top VW was wrapped in graphics by Spin Imaging before embarking on a journey that totaled 14,000 miles, and 55 days. Merchandise was given away by the 2 young men traveling in what was now the Cosmic Egg, our Nalu Imi (Wave Seeker). The VW moved about the U.S.A. as it followed various performers at a host of locations, all in an effort to promote Wolfmother's new album, Cosmic Egg.

Who is Wolfmother you ask? I had no idea until I asked my best friend's 18 year old son if he knew who Wolfmother was... all I can tell you was that his reaction was extreme. You can look them up on the web - the equivalent of Deep Purple and the '70's (my opinion only and I'm way out of the loop here) - hey that's the same era that Nalu hails from!

Bernd & Sandra :: Germany :: Big Sur, California Trip

Hi Bill,

As discussed on the way to the airport, find enclosed some pictures of our trip and some information about the campsite we found on Highway 1. The name is "Kirk Creek", 35 miles south of Big Sur, directly on the coast. For us it was one of the best campsites we ever found! You can find more information, also about the nearby "Plaskett Creek" on Recreation.gov. It was really a great trip with Taos along the Californian Coast, and for us it was like taking a little bit home with us because we are so familiar with the bus. If you ever will go on your trip to Europe and come to Germany, feel free to visit us (and our bus); perhaps we can share a short part of your Europe-trip together with two buses.

Cheers,

Bernd + Sandra

Kindt Family :: Belgium

Hello Bill & Diane

We are the Belgian Family who came last year during the Christmas vacation for a surf trip in Southern California. We had 3 pages in the Belgian surfmagazine with nice pics of your vw Camper. I hope everyting goes well with your family and VW business. We would like to come again for a surftrip, because last year we had a great time and a great service from you. My daughter Camille asks if there is a green vw bus available.

Greetings

Damien & Magali :: France

Dear Bill,
Throughout a life time one meets a lot of people. The people you are close to, the people you work with, the people you see everyday and with whom you never speak. There are the people you might even hate at some point. That makes a lot of people. Maybe if you have time to spare you can count them? That’s an idea for your lost hours in the cold winter period. But out of these, (say) tenth of thousands of people how many will actually leave a definite print in your memory? Well, not that many I give you that.
Then if you filter even more, you can segregate the people that would change your life in a positive manner from the rest. There are very few of these people. There is no need for me to carry on filtering. I don’t think there is a need to restrict in any way that short list. I look at it and it’s a beautiful short list.
There are so many pictures attached to the list, there are beautiful emotions too. And Bill you are on that short list. Not that it is a privilege that grant you access to some VIP lounge or anything of that nature. It just means that Bill is close to our hearts. I lived (so far) a life of commitments to things I don’t really like. I sometimes didn’t even know why I was committed to those things. I guess each of us follows a different path blah blah blah… But we met you and your determination to live the life you picture. Maybe it’s not always been the case and maybe you’ve stumbled a few times along the way, but at least we understood that passion in what you do leads to a form of success. I like that a lot. This is putting a different perspective on our lives.
I am sure that you will reach whatever you are aiming to, simply because there would not be any justice on this planet if you didn’t.
We will be happy to assist you in anyway you like in your pursuing your project in France. And if by luck one day you decide (you and your wife) to fly to France, there will be us waiting for you at the airport. Oh yeah.
Peace, Love and Soul,
Damien & Magali

Rachel & Nick's Honeymoon :: Ireland :: San Francisco to LA via Big Sur Coast

Hi Bill,
Okay I ended up with over 500 photos but dont worry I'm not sending you through that many.
I figured you'd just want to see ones that were bus relevant rather than endless shots of Big Sur, etc.
I've also chucked in a couple to prove how I managed to ruin your lovely pans. I became obsessed by cooking over the campfires and started to write my own little campfire cookbook.
You'll also notice that we managed to decorate Taos quite well. Someone was horrified thinking that I had painted on the back of it, but it was just a sticker that I made sure was removed before we gave Taos back!

Anyway, I hope you like the photos. I might have to send these through in two batches. Hope you enjoy...

Natalie & Pete :: Dubai

Hi Bill,

Being back in Dubai is a little strange after such a fun holiday together. Many thanks for introducing Pete and me to your VW campers. We had one of the best holidays we could have asked for. Driving Eddy up the Pacific coast and Nalu to Vegas baby was one of a kind!

We're now missing Eddy and Nalu, still want to be zooming around and California dreaming in them, we slept so well! We have some great photos of our travels, when we have them all on the computer we will email some to you. There's a few star ones of you mr Bill....

It was lovely to meet you, thankyou for everything and taking us to the right terminal at LAX Airport last week! Hope to see you and Eddy again in California.

Have a hot hot summer!

Natalie and Pete xo
